Last Lake Trip for the Summer

Over Labor Day weekend, we headed to Greers Ferry Lake for the last time this summer.  The boys were so excited because we haven't been able to go as much due to our busy schedules.  We left Friday afternoon and arrived at my aunt Nennie's house in Higden, AR around 8:00 p.m.  My mom and Nennie left earlier than we did, so they were already at the house.  The boys jumped out of the car and were wild until we made them go to sleep.  Saturday morning, thanks to my hubby, I got to sleep in until 8 something which was wonderful!  After I got up and moving, we got ready and headed out to the water.  The weather was absolutely perfect!

Sunday, the weather was a bit gloomy.  It felt great out, but rain was in the forecast.  We didn't want to take any chances on the water, so Jonathan and I decided to take the boys fishing.  They LOVE to fish!  None of the boys catch anything, but they have a blast trying.

After a while, they got tired of fishing and entertained us with dancing and skipping rocks.

I never get tired of this view!

After our fishing excursion, we had more excitement on the water.  The sky was looking clear, so we decided to head to the water.  BIG mistake!  The water seemed smooth at first, but that changed quickly.  We stopped the boat and nearly got knocked over by the waves.  They were huge!  We could not stop laughing because we felt like we were in the ocean in a 21 ft. boat.  Needless to say, we headed back.  The trip ended shorter than we had planned because of the weather, but we had an awesome time.
Until next year...
