Last Friday, Austin and Hudson had a Grandparent's Program at school. The PreK through Kindergarten classes performed a "Barnyard Moosical." They were the cutest little animals ever!! Austin was a sheep and Hudson was a pig. Such a treat for all the grandparents! The boys were thrilled that all 4 of their grandparents were able to come watch the show.
After the program, we did lunch, then played outside for the rest of the day. Putting the boys to bed was easy because they were exhausted! And Austin knew that he had to get up for a soccer game.
Saturday morning, the boys woke up ready to go to the soccer fields. My mom came to the house so she could ride with us out to Germantown. Of course, we were pushing it to arrive for warm ups. I don't know why it's so hard for us to get anywhere on time. :) Anyways, Austin and his team played a great game! Austin scored a goal, and the team one, so I had one very happy boy!
After the game, my mom was playing around with Austin while walking to the car. They were kicking the soccer ball back and forth, then my mom tripped and fell to the ground. I missed the fall, but turned around and saw her on the ground. TALK ABOUT PANICKING!! My heart dropped to my feet. I ran back to her, and another guy made it to her, too. I knew something was wrong. She couldn't move her right arm at all. Long story short... She dislocated her shoulder. After a trip to the emergency room, her shoulder was reduced and her excruciating pain was gone. We were all happy that she was going to be okay!
At her follow-up appointment at Campbell Clinic yesterday morning, the Dr. let my mom know the restrictions. She has to wear an immobilizer to keep her shoulder from moving and she can't drive for at least 2 weeks. Hopefully, within a few weeks, she will be back to her normal routine. But until then, she will be staying with me and the boys. :)
